EVENT CANCELLATION QUESTIONS
1. Will you have a virtual event?
The Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health will not be hosting a virtual event in 2020. We understand you have been training and were anticipating a great race and we encourage you to continue running and being active while following public health guidelines. During this time of uncertainty, running can be a constant, an escape, and a familiar friend. Although we cannot run together in November, in the end we will run together even stronger.
If you are interested in still running a race, there is an option being organized by our official charity that we encourage you to explore. Although the Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health supports our charity partners and their efforts, this virtual event is not part of, sponsored, or affiliated with the Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health.
Affordable Dental Care – Miles for Smiles
Each year, Affordable Dental Care organizes a team of runners to participate in the Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health while also raising awareness and funds for their mission. This year, despite the cancellation of the Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health, their team’s runners will still be running “Miles for Smiles” on November 8th, in fun ADC jersey gear, wherever they are! 2. What will happen with the 4th medal section and challenger coin?
We understand many of you have participated in the Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health for the previous three years and are looking forward to earning the fourth medal section and challenger coin. To complete your set, we will make sure these are part of the 2021 Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health on November 14, 2021.

3. How do I defer my entry to the 2021 Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health?

4. Can I defer my race entry to Run Madtown in May?
Your 2020 Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health race entry can only be deferred to the 2021 Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health on November 14th. Madison Festivals, Inc. is aware of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and its impact on public health, therefore registration for the 2021 Run Madtown presented by SSM Health is currently not available.
The Madison Festivals, Inc. Board of Directors are diligently monitoring the progress of this public health emergency, as well as the recommendations from Public Health Madison and Dane County, as they work with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to prevent the spread of this virus. Registration updates will be communicated on our website and Facebook page.
5. How do I donate my race entry?
By donating your race fee to one of the charities below you can make a major difference in the lives of many. 100% of your entry fee will be donated to the non-profit you choose, and all donations are tax deductible.
We hope that participants will consider generously donating their race entry to one of Madison Marathon presented by SSM Health’s official event charities – myTEAMTRIUMPH or Affordable Dental Care – 100% of your registration fee will be donated to the charity of your choosing and can be used as a tax write-off. Although we cannot race together in person this year, we can still work together to make a difference in our community.

6. What is myTEAMTRIUMPH?
MyTEAMTRIUMPH exists to provide the support for people with diverse abilities to come together in training, racing and social events with the aim to address social isolation through a teamwork approach of endurance athletics. One of the biggest challenges people with disabilities face is social isolation. Being able to connect with others who are positive and life giving is essential for their wellbeing. myTEAMTRIUMPH provides a teamwork approach where people of diverse abilities come tougher, cross the finish line and build relationships that go beyond the race. The result is a more inclusive community.
Your donationto mTT can directly support the Chair Rental Program:
A race chair brings freedom of the outdoors to people with disabilities and enhances physical and mental health. With your help, we will provide people with disabilities complimentary use of our adaptive wheel chairs so they can get outdoors and connect with others during this time. We will offer this opportunity to family members in the same home and then eventually to friends and family outside of the home. Every $50 donation provides a chair for a Captain for one month!
7. What is Affordable Dental Care?
Affordable Dental Care, Inc., is an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit dental clinic based in Madison, WI providing affordable and grant dental care. Their mission is to restore hope, health, and opportunity through quality dentistry to the uninsured, at-risk population in a nonprofit, partner-powered model that treats any individual who has put off dental care due to financial, physical, or educational hardship. They do not accept insurance and do not compete with private practice dentistry or government community healthcare, rather exist to fill the gap of patients who fall into neither of those categories.

8. How do I receive a refund for my race entry?

9. When you begin processing refunds?
We will begin processing refunds on October 1st and anticipate this process will take several weeks. You will receive a notification via email when your refund has been processed. We appreciate your patience during this process.
10. Will I be refunded the full amount including fees?
Participants will receive a full refund for their 2020 race entry including any additional fees added at checkout.
11. What if my credit card number changed after I registered for the event?
All refunds will be issued to the original source of payment. If your credit card number changed after registering for the 2020 event, your bank will issue the credit to your account. Once refunds are processed and you receive your confirmation email, we anticipate refunds will take seven to ten business days to appear on your bank statement. If your refund has not been posted to your account within seven business days of receiving your confirmation email, we recommend you contact your financial institution.
12. How do I cancel my hotel reservation?
If you made your hotel reservation through our event website, and need to cancel your reservation, please e-mail those requests to firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact 800-365-4931, and a representative would be happy to assist you.
